June 21, 2026 Update
Important Update to Samosa Club
(COMING SOON-NOT YET AVIALBLE FOR PURCHASE)
Lock In Today's Samosa Price
Allow Samosa Club members to prepay for future samosas at today's price and redeem them over time.
(Also Known As Samosa Bonds™)
Following our June 20 announcement, we received a number of thoughtful questions from members. This update reflects our current thinking and answers some of the most common questions.
First, let's clarify the objective.
The purpose of this program is simple:
Allow Samosa Club members to prepay for future samosas at today's price and redeem them over time.
This is not intended to be an investment product.
The primary purpose is to provide members with price certainty and provide the restaurants with predictable planning.
The return on your investment, if any, will continue to be measured in samosas.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does it work?
Members would have the option of purchasing future samosas in advance at today's price and redeeming them over time.
Is the program shared between Bombay Cafe and Raunaq Mela?
No.
Bombay Cafe and Raunaq Mela are separate businesses and would operate separate Samosa Price Lock programs.
Samosas purchased through the Bombay Cafe program would be redeemable only at Bombay Cafe.
Samosas purchased through the Raunaq Mela program would be redeemable only at Raunaq Mela.
Account balances, purchases, redemptions, and refunds would be tracked separately for each location.
How many can I purchase?
There is currently no proposed maximum purchase limit.
Whether you wish to purchase 50 samosas, 500 samosas, or enough samosas to support a long and happy relationship with Bombay Cafe and Raunaq Mela, we have not yet established a maximum purchase limit.
What price will I pay?
The purchase price will be the current Samosa Club member price in effect on the date the samosas are purchased.
Once purchased, that price remains fixed regardless of future menu price changes.
Do they expire?
The current proposal is that they would not expire.
Any prepaid samosas would remain available until redeemed.
What if I am not satisfied with the program?
Members may request a refund of their unused prepaid samosa balance at any time.
Refunds will be issued by check in an amount equal to the remaining value of the member's account.
Refunds will be calculated based on the original purchase value of the unused prepaid samosas.
Refund requests are subject to a 30-day waiting period.
Once a refund is issued, the corresponding prepaid samosa balance will be removed from the member's account.
The purpose of the waiting period is to allow for account reconciliation and administrative processing.
How many can I redeem per day?
The current proposal limits redemption to a maximum of 10 samosas per member per day.
Why the daily limit?
To help ensure fresh availability for all customers and to keep the program manageable during busy periods.
This is consistent with the way our promotional samosa program has operated for years.
Can multiple members combine their redemptions into a single order?
No.
Redemptions may not be pooled, combined, transferred, delegated, or redeemed on behalf of another member.
The member must be present at the time of pickup and must present their Samosa Club ID.
Why is the member required to be present?
Each redemption must be recorded against the member's account.
For example, if a member has prepaid for 500 samosas and redeems 10 today, their account balance must be updated accordingly.
For this reason, Samosa Price Lock purchases are intended for the personal use of the member and may not be redeemed by another person.
Why not allow pooling?
Experience has taught us that if enough people can combine their benefits into one order, they eventually will.
The purpose of this program is to benefit individual members, not to create large-volume redemptions that overwhelm the kitchen and affect service for other customers.
Is this an investment?
No.
This is simply a proposed way for members to lock in today's samosa price while helping Bombay Cafe and Raunaq Mela plan for tomorrow.
Is this final?
No.
This program is still under consideration and may be modified, delayed, or not implemented at all.
We are currently evaluating customer interest, operational requirements, accounting procedures, and administrative processes before making a final decision.
No purchases are being accepted at this time.
We appreciate the feedback we have received so far and will post updates on SamosaClub.com as the concept evolves.
Some of the best ideas start as jokes.
And some jokes eventually become Samosa Club updates.

June 20, 2026 update
SAMOSA BONDS™
For the past several months we have been joking about Samosa Economics, Samosa Futures, Samosa 401(k)s, and Samosa Bonds.
At some point it stopped being a joke.
We are now exploring the possibility of issuing a limited number of prepaid Samosa Bonds to customers who would like to lock in future samosa purchases
Why Are We Considering This?
We recently startled, surprised, and upset a number of souls by moving from **10 samosas for $5** to **10 samosas for $10** in one surprise "BOOM."
To be fair, it wasn't entirely a surprise. The change had been posted on this Coming Soon page before it was implemented.
Still, many customers only discovered it when they walked in expecting the old price.
That got us thinking.
Some customers would rather be surprised by the taste of samosas than the price of samosas. What if customers who wanted price certainty could lock in future samosa purchases in advance?
Proposed Structure
A member may be able to purchase:
365 Samosas
That's one samosa a day
for a year, if that's your thing
at 50¢ each
Total Cost: $182.50
The samosas would be loaded into the member's account and redeemed over a one-year period.
Redemption Rules
• Maximum 10 samosas per day
• Unused samosas remain available until expiration
• The entire balance may be redeemed in as little as 37 days
• Or stretched over the full year
Limited Release:
If introduced, Samosa Bonds will be released in limited quantities.
Once sold out, they are sold out.
There is no promise that additional bonds will be issued.
Future offerings, if any, may have different pricing, quantities, or terms.
Why You May Like it:
•Peace of mind
•Lock in today's price
• Protection from future price increases
Why We Like It:
• Better forecasting
• Better planning
• Immediate cash flow
• One more excuse to talk about Samosa Economics
Important
Samosa Bonds are currently under consideration.
Nothing on this page is a commitment to launch the program.
Details may change before implementation.
Current Samosa Club pricing remains unchanged.
No Samosa Bonds have been issued at this time
As always, all policy updates will be posted here first.
Interested?
Let us know. The number of bonds issued. if any, may depend on customer interest.
*Disclaimer: Samosa Bonds are prepaid food purchases.
They are not stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs, retirement plans, cryptocurrencies, or any other investment product.
The return on your investment, if any, will be measured in samosas.*
